We are a school on a personal scale; our classes are large enough to enable robust discussion and engaging interaction with students from all across the globe, yet small enough to encourage one-on-one contact with our world-class faculty and student support services.
Diversity
MBS prides itself on the diversity of our student body and faculty. More than 80% of students are from outside Australia and there is not one country that has a majority presence in the classroom.
Students are accepted from a broad range of undergraduate degrees and prior work experience so you can learn from your peers.
Coming from over 14 different countries our faculty is equally diverse; it is this diversity that provides for excellent foundations in understanding business in other countries and cultures.
Cohorts
The student experience at MBS is a group experience. While you will go through the program with other students in your intake (80 in total) there are two intakes per year, giving you the opportunity to work with all your fellow students and providing you with the opportunity to forge strong friendships and build social and business relationships.
The relative small size of the group also allows you to get to know all your classmates and lecturers on a personal basis, giving you the opportunity to learn in a familiar and nurturing environment.
Teaching styles - real life learning
Our faculty use a variety of methods in the classroom and while traditional lecturing is used when necessary, much of the teaching involves case discussions or experiential activities where you and your fellow students will be able to learn by doing.
We use experiential learning, so you will participate in practical activities and experience the ambiguities that all leaders face; this real life experience extends to the case studies that feature real business problems.
Finally, project work will take you out of the classroom and into businesses so you can analyse and report on current management issues.
